Além da beleza da cidade, Tiradentes é hoje um pólo cultural de Minas com seu artesanato e festivais de cinema e gastronomia. É também o berço da Inconfidência Mineira, onde nasceu José Joaquim da Silva Xavier.
Besides its natural charm and friendliness , TIRADENTES is also a cultural and artistic center with its handcraft display and gastronomy and film festivals. It was also the birth place of Tiradentes ( the teeth picker as he was known) the head leader of the Minas Gerais insurrection against the Portuguese crown as a mining domain,on the XVIII century. It has also beautiful churches and a well preserved railway that links the town to its neighbouring city of São João Del Rei ,another historical site.
